The Story of Rosebuds Honey

Why we started beekeeping.

I've always found bees absolutely fascinating. The more I learned about them, the more amazed I became by their intelligence, teamwork, and the incredible way a hive works together.

My beekeeping journey began with my dad and a single hive. What started as a shared interest soon grew into a real passion. We spent countless hours learning about the bees, caring for them, and appreciating the vital role they play in our environment.

Over the years, that one hive has grown into fifteen thriving hives. Today, beekeeping has become a true family affair, with my husband and daughter now helping to care for the colonies. It's something we're all passionate about and enjoy doing together.

There's nothing quite like opening a hive on a warm summer's day and watching thousands of bees hard at work. Every jar of honey tells the story of their dedication and the wonderful variety of flowers and blossoms they visit throughout the season.

Why Honey Sets

Many people are surprised when they open a jar of my honey and find it has a firm, creamy texture rather than being runny.

The simple reason is that my honey is naturally set.

Natural honey contains glucose and fructose, and over time, the glucose naturally forms tiny crystals. This is a completely normal process and is actually a sign that the honey is pure and unprocessed. I don't add anything to make it set, and I don't treat it to keep it runny. I simply allow nature to take its course.

Naturally set honey has a deliciously smooth texture and is perfect for spreading on toast, crumpets, and fresh bread. Many people love its rich, creamy consistency and the way it holds all the wonderful flavours and aromas created by the bees.

The appearance of honey can vary throughout the year depending on the flowers the bees have visited, the weather, and the season, but one thing remains the same – every jar is 100% pure honey, just as nature intended.

For me, naturally set honey is a celebration of traditional beekeeping and the incredible work of the bees. It's pure, natural, and full of flavour, and I'm proud to share it with you.
